A comprehensive assessment can help clarify whether ADHD is contributing to these difficulties, identify other factors that may be involved, and provide practical recommendations based on your individual profile.
THE ADHD ASSESSMENT PROCESS

Your first meeting will involve a detailed and collaborative clinical interview. With your clinician, you will review your personal history, including health, learning and academic experiences, work history (where applicable), and mental health history, to help build a clear and accurate diagnostic picture.

As part of the assessment, you will complete a series of standardized questionnaires that help evaluate attention, executive functioning, and related mental health symptoms that can overlap with ADHD. Depending on your age and history, we may also request input from parents, teachers, and/or a partner or spouse.

You will also take part in brief, structured testing that helps me better understand how your brain manages attention and memory in everyday situations. This includes measures of working memory and other memory processes that are often affected in individuals with ADHD.

After all assessment data have been reviewed, we will meet for feedback regarding diagnostic impressions, along with a written report that outlines recommendations and next steps. Accommodation recommendations may be provided for academic or workplace settings. Please note that some post-secondary institutions require a comprehensive psychoeducational assessment to approve academic accommodations.
WHAT’S INCLUDED
A comprehensive assessment—not simply an ADHD screener.
ADHD assessment involves more than determining whether diagnostic criteria are met. The assessment integrates clinical history, standardized measures, cognitive data, diagnostic formulation, and functional information to understand your individual profile and provide meaningful recommendations.
Clinical Interviewing: 2 hours
A one-on-one, in-depth clinical interview conducted directly with the clinical psychologist.
Detailed review of developmental, medical, educational, occupational, and mental health history
Exploration of current concerns, daily functioning, and ADHD-related patterns across the lifespan
Clarification of symptoms, strengths, and contextual factors relevant to diagnosis
Cognitive & Memory Testing: 1 hour
Standardized testing to assess cognitive processes commonly impacted in ADHD.
Measures of working memory and attention
Helps clarify how attentional and memory difficulties show up in real-world functioning
Clinical Integration & Report: 4.5 hours
This component reflects the behind-the-scenes clinical work required to ensure accuracy, clarity, and meaningful recommendations tailored to your needs.
Comprehensive analysis and diagnostic formulation
Preparation of a detailed written report summarizing findings and recommendations
Review of relevant documentation (e.g., report cards, prior records when provided)
Inclusion of accommodation recommendations where appropriate
Feedback: 0.5 hours
A dedicated feedback appointment to review results and next steps.
Clear discussion of diagnostic impressions and assessment findings
Opportunity to ask questions and clarify recommendations
Review of accommodations and supports, when relevant
Cost: $2000
Services are provided by a registered Clinical Psychologist and may be eligible for full or partial reimbursement through extended health insurance plans. We recommend confirming your psychology coverage directly with your insurance provider before booking.
Payment: E-transfer or credit card. A 2.5% processing fee applies to credit card payments.
